Lately I have been working on a series of scarves. In my family, crocheting has been handed down from my Gama Duffy, to my Mom, and then to me. I've never been the best crochet-er because I tend to start with the basics that have been explained to me, and then branch off in every direction on my own. Most of the time, I have mediocre success, and occasional extraordinary success. My grandma and my mom had/have made multitudes of afghan blankets for my sister and me, but I, on the other hand, stick to oddly shaped scarves. Perhaps it's my lack of persistence, or lack of patience, or lack of overall commitment to a whole blanket, but crocheting scarves, I find, allows me the freedom I prefer to explore shapes and patterns and approaches, with a fairly quick result. While I have crocheted about three scarves this past week, this one pictured is my current endeavor. It has a seashell pattern, and it's exciting because it puffs out and twists. I'm unsure of how to add to it, or embellish, or just plain continue.
